For live performances, Amanda covers music of all sorts of genres, from pop to folk to classical. For private and public events, she sings and plays whatever suits the atmosphere, enriched with her effects pedals and other specialized equipment.

Private Lessons

Although a large portion of Amanda’s violin training was with the Suzuki method and mainly classical repertoire, she believes her students should have the freedom to pursue the kinds of music they’re interested in. To do this, she tailors each student’s curriculum to fit their personal goals and taste in music.

If you’re interested in taking lessons for violin, piano, guitar, voice, ukulele, or even music theory, contact Amanda below and she’ll be in touch with you.

Please bear in mind that as of April of 2024, Amanda’s teaching schedule is full. Contact her to be added to the waitlist.

The violin holds a special place in Amanda’s heart. Her musical career began when she first picked the instrument up in 1999 at age 6. At 10 years old she was appointed concert master for a local youth orchestra, and by the time she was 17 she was the concert master for Florida College’s string ensemble, maintaining that position for three years. During that time she was also selected to be part of the college’s official pop/rock band, in which she performed as a violinist, pianist, and singer as they toured the country each summer.

When it comes to teaching violin, Amanda uses a very adaptive style, tailoring the course to the student’s musical interests. While some are interested in learning classical masterpieces, others have tastes in different genres. Whether your taste is for challenging classics, mellow pop/rock melodies, or even furious Irish fiddling, Amanda can help you develop a skill and relationship with the violin on a personal level.

Amanda is a classically trained pianist, but she enjoys playing every genre of music. She can teach students to play from sheet music, pop chords, or by ear. She adjusts her teaching style to suit each student’s goals, whether they want to be a classical pianist, a composer, or simply want to learn how to play (or play and sing!) their favorite songs.

Amanda has been playing the guitar since 2009, with a focus primarily on acoustic guitar. Once you’ve got the basics down, she can teach you to read sheet music, chords, or tabs, depending on the style you are seeking to learn. Whether you’re interested in classic rock ballads, pop chord progressions, or John-Mayer-esque acoustic riffs, Amanda can craft a course designed to help you develop your relationship with the guitar.

The voice is a special instrument because it’s one that you are born with, not one that you hold in your hands. The idea that you are “stuck” with your current singing voice is a myth; it can be trained like any other instrument. Singing is a unique form of self-expression and is emotionally beneficial to singer and listener alike. Amanda teaches contemporary vocal techniques with the goal of giving you the set of skills you need in order to discover and improve your voice while avoiding harmful singing habits. If a student also wants to play the guitar and/or piano, she can incorporate the instruments in their lesson so they can practice playing and singing at the same time.

Although the ukulele isn’t as intimidating as other instruments, it can be frustrating to try to learn on your own. Many people buy ukuleles because they are relatively inexpensive and easy to learn, but they can’t quite get the hang of it, so they store them in the back of their closet for years. Amanda is an experienced ukulele player and teacher, so she can guide you through the learning curve and you’ll finally be able to use your ukulele for decoration *and* artistic expression.
